What is National Citizen Service?
NCS is a voluntary programme for 16 year olds, which was launched last summer. It is a chance for 90 young people to spend some of their summer holidays undertaking exciting and challenging activities: three weeks will be full time including a two week residential element, and a minimum of 30 hours spent delivering a project for the benefit of the local community.
The aim of NCS is to give participants the opportunity to get ahead by having fresh experiences and learning new skills that are valuable to employers and further education organisations, such as leadership and team building. It's also a chance to have fun and meet other young people in a safe and structured environment.
