Non Misconduct reporting
A Sheffield and Hallamshire Referee has been charged due to the fact that he has not reported CFA misconduct that they carried out during a game. Is it worth the possibility of being suspended?
Social networking sites
Social Networking Websites have now become a part of everyday life and are accessed by many people from all walks of life. It is an individual’s right to use such sites as they wish, within the bounds of legal acceptability.
However, as match officials, there is a responsibility to conduct one’s self in a professional manner, both on and off the field of play. Inappropriate use of these sites may leave a Match Official open to criticism, comment or ridicule, even if the matter is of a personal nature. Inappropriate comments regarding refereeing issues or other issues on such sites which could bring football, referees or the CFA into disrepute may result in action by the CFA against the Match Official in question.
Please therefore think carefully before posting on such sites. The FA would not wish you to jeopardise your position as a Match Official by making inappropriate or ill founded social comment or use of such sites.
The latest information and updates from Sheffield & Hallamshire FA are available from www.facebook.com/shcfa and www.twitter.com/shcfa
Referees Changing rooms robbed - Advice
There has been a large increase of club changing rooms being robbed during games.
These also include some of the better facilities in the area.
Please do not take valuables into the changing rooms with you. Items like money, credit cards and mobile phones should be left in your car. Car keys should be handed to someone at the venue if at all possible. Please report all matters of theft to the police as soon as possible.
Referees kit
It has come to light that some referees have been wearing coloured referees jersey’s in local leagues. Under any circumstances this is not permitted. Other than Football League and Premier League Referees must under FA Guidelines wear all black.

Meadowhall League – Respect Status (Sheffield Only)
From January, the Meadowhall League have introduced the following procedures to help with the respect programme (1) 15 minutes prior to kick off both team captains will meet with the referee at the handing over of teamsheets. (2) Prior the kick off the Referee and both teams will complete the Respect handshake.
JustOneStanding – new sponsors of the Senior Challenge Cup
JustOneStanding is a new football-based prediction game which aims to throw a much needed lifeline to local clubs struggling to meet the ever-increasing running costs. The brainchild of former Sheffield & Hallamshire FA Senior Challenge Cup referee Jock Waugh and former player and club administrator Alan Strawford, JustOneStanding pledges to reinvest 30% of stakes back into grassroots football.
With JustOneStanding each player places a £10 stake and bets on a series of games from one of the domestic leagues. Players with incorrect predictions are knocked-out until there is JustOneStanding, who will scoop a £5,000 jackpot. Players nominate a club to represent and JustOneStanding then sends out money to them.
So, the more players a club can get to represent them- the more money the club will receive.
JustOneStanding are also committed to helping clubs and organisations develop and realise more long-term ambitions, such as buying new kit or building changing rooms. They welcome applications from good causes struggling to obtain funding.

Hearing Aids - Advice
Players can wear them. Hearing aids are sensitive pieces of electronic equipment and risk being broken if they fall out of the ear during vigorous activity. For this reason some deaf people will choose to play without their hearing aids just in case.
However, others prefer to wear their hearing aids, particularly if they play in mainstream teams, so that they can use them to hear instructions or calls from team mates. It is generally accepted that children can use their aids when playing sport provided they are comfortable and secure fitting. If in doubt advise parents to ask for further advice from their audiologist.
Referees Expenses – Advice
Please be aware that all referees expenses are paid from your home address.
If you are visiting your granny in Manchester you still claim from home.

County RA
Roger Evans
Once again it is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the sudden death of another stalwart of refereeing in the area. Sheffield Referee Roger Evans collapsed after a Central Midlands League game. He also refereed in the Sheffield Sunday leagues and was Chairman of the Sheffield Referees Association.
His family would like to encourage family, friends and the general public to donate money in his memory. Funds raised will then be used to purchase defibrillators for installation at football grounds in the region.
This work will be supported by the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA, who will work with the British Heart Foundation to purchase and install the defibrillators.
His family have set up a dedicated website to promote the cause. Please visit http://www.hides.force9.co.uk/rogerevans/
Donations to the cause can be made via PayPal, toref.rog@hotmail.com
Alternatively, you can send a cheque to Alfred Dunham and Sons, Funeral Directors, 56 Snape Hill Lane, Dronfield, S18 2LG. Please make cheques payable to R Evans.
